Aschka: February to May 2013

Aschka comes from the well-known Owl and Bird of Prey Station Haringsee, where many young Bearded Vultures are raised. This young bird is particularly important for the reintroduction project because it belongs to a rare genetic lineage with ancestors from Crete. With the introduction of Aschka, the wild Alpine population will receive “fresh blood” and an increase in the genetic diversity.
