Madagaskar: August to November 2012
In recent months Madagascar has come back from afar. On 8th August, he could still be observed in the Glarnerland by German Bamert. Then he made a short trip to Austria and then flew south. He found the reintroduction site in the Vercors Regional Park almost exactly and there he spent some time.
On the International Vulture Observation Day, the 6th October 2012, Madagascar could be photographed by Gil Streichert in the Mercantour National Park. Since the end of October we have not received any new GPS positions from Madagascar. We hope, however, that the transmitter soon resumes sending signals or that, at least, visual observations are reported, so that we will soon be able to report back about Madagascar.
